Livv & Harry

Livv & Harry

We met …

At the Who’d Have Thought it inn, in St Dominick

Your first impressions of your partner:

Livv: He’s good looking but a pain for pestering for a drink.

Harry: I’m going to marry that blonde barmaid

How did your proposal happen?

It was Sunday 12th September when we went to one of our favourite places at Whitsands for lunch. After we walked along to Harry’s grandparent beach when he asked me the question, Harry proposed with a bit of sea glass we had found month on Whitsands beach and hidden from Livv. It was a yes. But that date was special as it’s Livv’s great great grandmas birthday (who is no longer with us) and [from] the Whitsands stretch [you] can see Seaton Beach where some of Livv’s grandparents were scattered. Harry really did think this day over! A few months later, we made Livv’s engagement ring together with the sea glass.

Length of engagement:

JUST under 3 years, but it was a busy 3 years with a newborn on our hands.

In three words, how did you imagine your wedding day?

Chilled, Fun & Personal

How did you choose your venue?

We both met and lived in St Dominick and wanted somewhere close to home and the Bathing Hut was just perfect, so close to home.

Often the aspect that makes a wedding original to the couple is the detail/theme – tell us about the special details of the day and how you implemented them (colours, theme decorations, centre pieces, favours, photo booths, DIY etc).

We got married in the Bathing Hut and it was very simple with two milk churns filled with sunflowers at the front and 2 pictures of our grandparents on their wedding days sat in the side window. The fairy lights were on and it really was a simple and effective as that.

Were you inspired by anyone on social media? Pinterest/Instagram etc?

I wasn’t, I love sunflowers and just thought of a different way to display them and it all came together.

Please give a brief account of your wedding planning story i.e., priorities, highs & lows, challenges etc…

Our wedding planning was a breeze, start to finish Chrissie was there for us! There were no challenges or lows.

What was your favourite part of the wedding?

Our wedding ceremony and naming ceremony for our son at the Bathing Hut. It was all perfect and so personal to us we just enjoyed sharing our hour of us with our loved ones.

What was the most important investment for you? For example, food, drink, clothes, honeymoon?

BUBBLES!! Everyone LOVED doing a bubble arch once we exited the Bathing Hut and it was so magical walking through them.

What is your top tip for other couples?

It’s YOUR day do what YOU want! Everyone said how special our ceremony was and many commented how they loved our party at the local pub. You don’t need to please anyone, just yourselves for your day!
