Ceremony and reception venue:
The wisteria-clad Pavilion for our ceremony and the Castle for our reception.
How did you choose your venue?
We were originally planning to have a small wedding on a Greek island however we had to cancel due to Covid-19. We then decided to look for UK alternatives and both liked the idea of Cornwall. When searching for venues I saw Pentillie and immediately thought it looked like the setting for a dream wedding. We initially thought it would be beyond our reach but following enquiries it was available for the week we wanted it and everything fell in to place. We actually booked and paid for it before we were able to visit due to lockdown but it had amazing reviews. We managed to visit once lockdown ended a few weeks before the wedding and we were not disappointed. We both agreed that it was a perfect location that we would choose over our original Greek Island plans without a doubt.
Where did you meet?
We worked for the same company, but got to know each other outside of work at various social get togethers and parties with mutual work friends.
How did your proposal happen?
Christmas Eve, once all the present wrapping was complete, Chris asked if I would like one of my gifts early. It was a bit of a drawn-out proposal as he had been very generous with the tape when he was wrapping the ring, once I made it through the various layers, he got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife.
What was your wedding theme/colours?
Pale pink, white and Sapphire blue to match my engagement ring. I wore blue velvet heels to match these too!
How did you feel as you walked down the aisle?
Excited and relieved.
What was your favourite part of the day?
The Sun coming out! The weather forecast turned for the worst when we were driving down to Cornwall the day before, we hoped to get married outside but thought we’d have to go for our indoor option (which still would have been amazing). Even on the morning of the wedding the forecast was iffy, but we made the decision a couple of hours before the ceremony to go for the outside option under the wisteria. About half hour before the wedding, the sun shone through, and we had perfect weather for the rest of the day.
What are your top tips for other couples?
Make a list of things you want your day to be, not a list of things to do.
