Dog Policy
We are delighted to welcome your four-legged friends to the Castle, for a small charge of £30 per dog per stay.
In order to respect subsequent guests who may not appreciate dogs, we do make the following requests:
Pets are welcome to sleep in any of the three following bedrooms; Howard, Kitson and Warren. Alternatively, they are welcome to stay in the adjoining boot room.
Please bring all equipment that your dog may require - bed, towels, toys, leads etc. Although we may be able to provide these items with advance notice, please ask. We kindly request that dogs do not go on the beds or furniture, or into any other bedroom.
Pets are welcome to join you throughout the downstairs rooms (with the exception of the commercial kitchen), but please do not allow them onto the furniture.
You are very welcome to walk your dog around the grounds, permitting they are always kept on a lead. The estate is home to many local wildlife, who do not appreciate being chased.
Please ensure that you “bag-and-bin” or “stick-and-flick” into the undergrowth. Bins are located around the Castle and the immediate grounds.
Pets should not be left unaccompanied in your bedroom.
You will be liable for any damage caused by your pet during your stay, we suggest you have insurance to cover this.
Please refrain from using your bathroom to clean your dog. Hot and cold water taps, and a hose for those larger dogs can be found outside in the courtyard. Dog towels can be provided for your use.
We allow up to two dogs per room, and no more than four dogs in total.
Our two black labradors Red and Tamu would be delighted to show your four-legged friends the best walks, how to get really muddy, and where to find the most interesting smells!
