As the days grow longer and we eagerly anticipate warmer temperatures, we invite our Friends to retreat amidst nature and embrace the changing seasons at Pentillie, whilst experiencing the beauty and magic of our early spring gardens.
Throughout the month of March, our gardens transform into a breathtaking display of color, as daffodils, tulips, hyacinths, and crocuses paint the landscape with vibrant hues. From the delicate blossoms that adorn our cherry and magnolia trees, to the elegant petals of hellebores and fritillarias, there's always something new to discover, creating a picturesque scene that simply cannot be missed.
But it's not just about admiring the blooms – March also signals the perfect time to sow seeds for summer flowers. Whether it's cosmos, zinnias, or sunflowers, starting these seeds now and providing them with the warmth and protection they need will ensure a flourishing display in the months to come.
Make sure to mark your calendars for a host of exciting events lined up in the coming months. From Garden Open Days to captivating Outdoor Theatre performances, there's an array of experiences waiting to be enjoyed by all.

Afternoon Tea - 10% discount available to all Friends
Enjoy a delicious Afternoon Tea in the elegant Castle Dining Room overlooking the River Tamar or in the sunshine on the garden terraces. Available between 12.30pm - 4.30pm on the following dates:

Garden Open Days - free entry to all Friends (membership holders only)
Enjoy a walk around the grounds, with cream tea boxes, Zinn’s coffee, and cake available to purchase in the Castle Courtyard. You are also welcome to bring your own picnic full of your favourite treats to enjoy in the Pentillie Gardens.

Outdoor Theatre performance of ‘The Gondoliers’ - 10% discount available to all Friends
Award-winning outdoor theatre company, Illyria, bring an enchanting rendition of ‘The Gondoliers’ that promises an evening of laughter, music, and entertainment at Pentillie Castle on Wednesday 17th July 2024, 7pm (gardens open from 5.30pm).
Outdoor Theatre performance of 'Hamlet' - 10% discount available to all Friends
The UK’s premier all male theatre company, The Lord Chamberlain’s Men, bring their fabulous production of William Shakespeare’s timeless tragedy to Pentillie Castle on Wednesday 24th July 2024, 7pm (gardens open from 5:30pm).
