Flapjacks have always been a popular afternoon treat at Pentillie and our recipe continues to be well requested by visitors and friends alike. It originated from some leftover homemade granola. Wondering what to do with it, we created our very own Pentillie granola flapjacks, which are really rather yummy! The recipe is below if you would like to make a batch to share with your family and friends. Don’t forget to tag us if sharing on Instagram or Facebook. Enjoy!

Ingredients

  • 100g butter

  • 100g demerara sugar

  • 3-4 tbsp golden syrup

  • 200g oats

  • 100g dried fruit/nuts/seeds

Method

  1. Melt butter, sugar and syrup in a pan over a medium heat

  2. Stir in oats, fruits/nuts/seeds (add more oats if lots of liquid is left)

  3. Press into a 22cm square tin lined with non-stick baking paper

  4. Bake at 170°C for 15 minutes until lightly browned

  5. Cool, and cut into squares.

Thank you for sharing this recipe. We have tried others before, but they have never been as memorable. I make it regularly for my husbands running friends as a snack after their Sunday runs, and always enjoy one or two myself too. Delicious!
